  • -a pen,
  • -fingers,
  • -skill

First you need to know the specific finger naming system, which is quite popular among spinners.

• The thumb is designated as the English letter “T”

• The index finger is “1”

• Middle finger - “2”

• Ring finger - "3"

You also need to know the designation of the gaps between the fingers, which are called “slots”.

• The gap between the thumb and forefinger is indicated as “T1”

• Between index and middle finger - “12”

• Middle and nameless - “23”

After that, you can start learning the easiest tricks - Charge, Thumb, Sonic, TA. For more convenience, go to sites that are dedicated to pinspinning. On them you can find detailed information on tricks, as well as a training video. Most popular sites:

Tip 2: How to twist the handle

To learn how to handle pens and pencils, you first need to learn the basic terminology. So you will be faster and easier to perceive the scheme of certain tricks. Fingers and even the spaces between them (the so-called "slots") have their own name. The thumb is indicated by the letter T, the rest have ordinal numbers, from 1 (index) to 4 (little finger). Accordingly, the slot between T and 1 is T1, and so on up to the slot between the ring finger and little finger - 34.

One of the simplest tricks is called Sonic. It is done with the stop of one end of the handle in the back of the T-finger, since it is simultaneously clamped in the T1 slot. The other end is located in slot 23. Thus, the middle of the handle just falls on the 2-finger. Press them on the handle. The end from under the T-finger will fly out and end up in slot 12, while the other end will be in its original position in slot T1.

To learn how to do the Charge trick, you will have to train to do the following exercises. During this trick, the handle spins between 2-3 fingers. The top of the handle should be weighed and just stick with the T-finger. The first revolution is done around the 2-finger. Only a 3-finger should move, and the handle should appear either under this finger or above it.

Practice until you learn how to “juggle” a pen between your fingers very quickly. And the title of penspinner is provided to you.

Fingers and slots

This art dates back to the Japanese Peng Mawashi exercises (ペ ン 回 し, “rotation of the handle”). It was most widely distributed among the “ronin” (Jap. 浪人 ro: ning), graduates of schools who failed entrance examinations at the university and are looking forward to next year.

Currently, there is no documentary evidence of who initiated the spread of pinspinning and how. However, such can be considered Japanese penspinner Hideaki Kondo, one of the first pinspinners to open a site on this subject.

Related to penspinning are “Zippo tricks” or “lighter tricks”.

Such a hobby can be useful to many people, especially those professions that require the development of finger dexterity (for example, guitarists or pianists).
